Challenge and approach
We dump 155,000 tons of household electricals in landfill each year in the UK. This means we’re losing many valuable resources that could be recycled – from gold and silver to copper and aluminium.
To bring this issue to life in the lead-up to Christmas and inspire people to see the potential of their waste electrical items, we created Five Gold Rings made entirely from elements extracted from discarded home electricals and partnered with model and environmental activist Lily Cole to launch them.
