Client – Sky
Challenge and approach
Sky Ocean Rescue was established in 2017 to highlight the single-use plastic crisis and to show the public how they could take action. Our task was to drive mass awareness of Sky’s commitment and to gain cut-through by inspiring action. The three-year campaign was kicked off with the launch of Plasticus the Whale. The structure, built entirely out of single-use plastic waste, represented the amount of plastic that entered the world’s oceans every second. Visiting towns across the UK, it was seen by half a million people.
Activity also included the launch of the Pass on Plastic reusable range, ongoing reactive press office activity, and consumer, corporate and stakeholder activations through Sky’s numerous purpose partners.
Results
The campaign led to 396 media articles, 116m reach, 98% message delivery, 99% positive sentiment, 10,000 reusable bottles given away, three beaches cleaned and 20+ European locations visited onto garment labels.
